Stress Loading and Factors of Safety Simulations.

Stress model showing a bracket under load of 5000N approximately loaded at the final facing, free end, pin. Acting downwards with gravity and boundary conditions at the upper pins are fixed. Serious deformation occurs and its load means the article exceeds the material yield stress, this results in fractures and failures,

The bracket has been reduced in load to 500N on bottom right in order to provide adequate strength and a MIN Factor of Safety of 10 throughout the bracket. No deformation occurs. It is demonstrating it is safe to use.

Computational Analysis of Components and Assemblies, Stress, CFD & Thermal

Creating and animating a 3D model of a water cooled heat exchanger the flow field and heat transfer in real time. 

This project was completed for the UKAEA and Cranfield University and the business owner (Dr Zeshan Tayyab Malick) qualified to PhD with the project entitled:

 "COMPUTATIONAL MODELLING OF CAVITY ARRAYS WITH HEAT TRANSFER USING IMPLICIT LARGE EDDY SIMULATIONS"

Here on the top left and right views the flow field and heat transfer inside the the heat exchanger is shown, below right view is the surface temperature calculated at the wall with the code to model turbulent flow structure.

At Component Design Services LTD we use Solidworks for our modelling and can perform computational fluid dynamics, thermal analysis and stress analysis. 

We offer fully unsteady transient simulations of flows and heat transfer in real time. 

Because of the computational expense of some cases RANS (Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes) is used although other methods can be deployed at the request of the customer.

Here all simulations shown are using Implicit LES (Large Eddy Simulations) for the flow field and heat transfer.

If you are interested in CFD and thermal calculations on the component in operational conditions simulations prove very useful. 

Finally many findings will save cost of experiment or testing.


We can provide report writing and analysis on FEA/CFD/heat transfer and fluid structure interactions including optimizations.

 Technical calculations, literature or competitor products are frequently used in reverse engineering or redesign.

We have the capacity to develop parametric studies with controlled variables and dimensions, on super computing facilities, validation cases and or experimental studies may also be identified.

The stress work we complete is using Solidworks software and is validated by the providers for use with strength and geometry analysis, structures we make are made with such software reducing the material and weight required for the structure and provide form and suitable design.

We can produce the 2d and 3d models and simulate the models of optimized designs and concepts at very reasonable rates. 

Analysis of small assemblies or components is currently limited to a cost of 4999.00 GBP*.

Through materials analysis and cycling material options for the geometry choices become available to the customer and we can identify the best cost and strength or functional material for the product, assembly or component.
